Alexander Overton

Associate

Alexander (Lex) delivers tailored client service. Joining Reconstruct LLP after several years with a renowned restructuring-focused Bay Street firm where he worked on significant mandates under the CCAA and BIA and related litigation matters, Lex is a practical advocate, assessing each situation and delivering bespoke, clear solutions.

Lex represents court-officers, debtors, creditors and other stakeholders in various restructuring proceedings and out-of-court workouts. His diplomatic approach and attention to detail facilitate an open dialogue with clients and opposing counsel that keeps matters moving forward.

Lex primarily practices in insolvency and commercial litigation and regularly appears before the Commercial List of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Lex obtained his J.D. from Western Law in 2021, where he was an active member of various student organizations. He obtained his B.A. (Hons) in Political Science and Law (Business Law) in 2016, graduating with Distinction. Lex was awarded the Michael MacNaughton Student Writing Award for Insolvency Law in 2021 for his article "Aquadis Case Comment: Extending the Reach of the Super Monitor”.
